Shopping for Chaise Lounge Chair Cushions

So you purchased a couple of really nice chaise lounge chairs only to sit on them and realize they need a little bit of padding.  You know that you need to buy cushions but you are not sure where to start.  If you are feeling a little overwhelmed with the idea of what to buy and how to buy it, you are not alone.  Buying chaise lounge chair cushions is not as straight forward as you might imagine, as you need to buy the type that will fit your specific type of chaise lounge.

When you want to buy chaise lounge chair cushions the first thing you will want to consider is the overall length.  Some chaise lounge chairs are shorter than others, so look for the dimensions on the box or even measure the chair from top to bottom with a measuring tape so you are sure you have the right size.

Next, you need to count how many breaks you have in your chaise lounge chair.  A break is the area where the chaise lounge is able to bend to allow you to adjust for comfortable.  When you are shopping for chaise lounge chair cushions you need to choose cushions that have the same number of breaks as your chair.  Some chairs have just one, others have none, and still others have two or three.  Everywhere there is a bending ability there is a break, so be sure to count all of them to select a cushion that is going to work with your specific chair.

Next, you’ll need to consider whether you want to have rounded edges on your chaise lounge chair cushions or straight edges.  You should usually choose cushions that have the same cut as the actual chaise, as this will assure the best fit and overall look when you put the cushion on the chair.

You can also consider the material that the cushions are made out of.  There are not many cushions that are meant to be left outdoors at all times, so consider those that are light and airy but will still provide plenty of padding so you have a comfortable place to enjoy the outdoors.

If you have a double chaise you will need to measure carefully the area in which you can fit a cushion.  You will again need to consider breaks and also consider rounded or straight edges and corners.  Measuring carefully will allow you to get the best fit possible so you can enjoy your chaise lounge as much as possible.
